A true friendship is something that grows over time
Forged into castle walls no evil can climb
Feelings in the heart that blossom into righteous power
And through it we are found past the last hour
Together reaching every star above
This is a legend filled with love
Over fifteen years ago, on that grassy hill outside of Skyview Elementary, I met my best friend, Natascha Bastian. Little did we know what adventures that awaited us then (and little do we know about those still to pass). My best friend soulmate, my sister - without you, I simply would not be.
Three flags adorn the castle from our favorite video game, The Legend of Zelda, each representing the colors of the schools that forged our friendship. Floating in the sky is a hot air balloon inspired by the iconic Team Rocket from the original Pokémon TV series (yes, we are nerds), that symbolizes our partnership, carrying us through life together to the highest heights. In addition sits the iconic basement couch, metaphorically placed between the two trees where we met; God only knows how many hours we have spent on that thing playing, laughing, crying, watching, sharing, and praying.
