Or drown under someone else's thrall
For its only bravery that can accept the call
To awaken the dragon within us all
I woke up early on my twenty-first birthday, as I wanted to make the most of it. After grabbing my favorite drink from the local coffee shop, I set out with a canvas and brushes in hand, ready to paint this scene at my local nature reserve. My shoes crunched along the dirt path as I found a place to sit, and rang up one of my best friends from across the world, Jasmin. We talked for some time until the sun grew warm on my neck and the watercolors dried in the palette.
Most of my painted memories take shape long after they happen, while Amplified was created in real time. A simple scene - the dragon emerging from the courageous sky, with the knight positioned just below symbolizes independence over our actions and the uncertainty, yet excitement, of our future. Choosing to take the next step, one right after the other, until we soar.
With castles and witches’ huts lurking behind the trees, we might not know what tomorrow holds, but we do know this: the choices we make today shape the memories of tomorrow.
